Description

Peregrine falcon is the fastest diving bird in the world. They were heavily persecuted but now as a protected species their numbers are improving. They have long, broad wings, a blackish head and a white barred chest. And they have a distinctive moustache. They feed on other small birds and it is quite a sight to see them swoop down and snatch their prey. In the UK there are 1,500 breeding pairs.
